Author Lucianne DeLong provides the reader with a very entertaining children's book from the deep ol south.
She has unique characters who share both grief and kindness with each other. With a whole lot of "Bless their hearts"...
there includes individuals who meet, marry, have jobs, grow a home and live a life of opportunity together.
Some wanted to flee town, while others encouraged companionship and unity. There is much to be learned from
Preacher Pope and his desire for everyone to get along. When the people work together there is a much happier
place to live and raise one's family.
This is a well illustrated book, filled with vivid imagination. I believe children as well as parents alike will enjoy
this fine form of entertainment. When the longing for deep southern talk is needed this is the book to fill that desire.
