I Am A Follower by: Leonard Sweet

I Am a Follower: The Way, Truth, and Life of Following Jesus

I really enjoy Leonard Sweet's book and how he describes Leadership.  So much today is based on the Leader and Leadership when in reality, Christ is the Leader and Chbristians are to be His Followers.  He describes that we have the opportunity to lead from behind.  Just as a shepherd leads his flock from behind, believers are enabled to lead others from behind rather than out front.
The words the disciples heard from Christ was, "Follow Me."  Indeed Christ is the Leader and we/disciples are to be followers.  He goes on to declare that Jesus wasn't ever looking for Leaders rather He was looking for Followers.
I agree with Mr. Sweet as he so clearly states:  "We have come to believe that we have a leadership crisis while all along we have been in a drought of discipleship.  The Jesus paradox is that early Christians lead by following."  How very pointed and needed in the day in which we live.  The Biblical principle over and over is to decrease so that Christ may increase.
I think this book is a much needed tool to be used within the local Church.  I wished pastors everywhere would read and enact within their congregations.
